INOVE! Congratulations to Amer Abu-Khajil and Jacqueline Doucet from civil engineering, and Josh Layton and Nader Alkadri from the School of Planning who's proposal for the South Campus Gateway was chosen at the i3 Challenge Final Event by the jury. The i3 Challenge Committee and jury would like to thank all of the 200+ students who participated in this competition. A special congratulations goes out to Jon Martin, Tori Chai, Mark Hunter, Ian Weng, Ryley Kornelsen, Ellis Soepenberg, Brandan Rowe, Alex Kranyak and Trevor Horman who all impressed the jury, committee and public at the i3 Challenge Final Event with their team's presentations and innovative ideas. Construction is expected to start on the i3 Challenge site in 2012. The $100,000 implementable project is funded by the President's Office of the University of Waterloo. The i3 Challenge is run through administrative funding and support from the Faculty of Environment and the Region of Waterloo.

The i3 Challenge

The purpose of the i3 Challenge is to solicit and develop innovative solutions to enhance the form, function or image of the entrance of the University of Waterloo’s South Campus. The University of Waterloo is home to exceptional students; this project facilitates and encourages Waterloo students to re-create their University in partnership with the University, its Faculties, its Operations team and the Region of Waterloo.
